Jamie will join the Converge community to tell us about some of his biggest open source projects... [Star Wars anyone?].
He builds great tools for curation and presentation of videos in addition to fun ways of producing and interacting with video.
Come and learn about his custom video players, including the embeddable Flash+HTML5 player created for VHX. It does seamless video playback for clips from any site and can organize them into playlists.

I am a computer programmer & Internet researcher interested in media and the spread of information and ideas online. I am currently building VHX.tv, a video sharing community. I’m also a founding member of FAT Lab, an open-source research & development group.
In 2010 I was a developer for Star Wars Uncut, a crowdsourced recreation of Star Wars that won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Media. In 2008 I co-created Know Your Meme a video series & Internet meme database that was selected as one of TIME Magazine’s Top 50 websites of 2009. In 2007 and 2008 I taught the Internet Famous Class at Parsons in NYC, in which students grades depended on their online popularity.
